​Methodist Men’s Chili Cook-Off and Auction reaches a record attendance and amount of money raised. Proceeds are over $20,000. What a blessing.  
The Methodist Men want say a big thank you to:

All of those who helped, cooked, ate, bid and cleaned up especially those who are not Methodist Men.
There was also good participation from other churches.

Best Presentation Theme: 1st Place Chip Perryman, 2nd Place Ralph Terry & Harold Rash & 3rd Place First United Methodist Youth

We appreciate the Ask Dr. Fran Facebook page coverage and boost that Dr. Fran and her husband Ed McCain provided.  Dr. Fran also gave us a bid challenge: if a pie or cake goes for over $500.00 Dr. Fran will add $200.00 on top of it. The challenge was met when Archie and June Dennis placed the winning bid for a cake. A big Thank You to cake buyers Archie & June Dennis and to Lance Gooden for paying $600.00 for peanut brittle.
The Athens Review did a photo story of the Methodist Men’s donation to the Food Panty and a frontpage article about the upcoming event. This coverage is appreciated.
 
The Methodist Men meet the 2nd and 4th Wednesday at 6:45AM.  And on the other Wednesdays at 6:45AM we have Bible study lead by Dr. Joe Mike Murphy.  You are invited to attend and enjoy the fellowship of a great group of men.
 
We are not just Methodist but a diverse group. We have members that are Baptist, Catholic and Presbyterian and others.
