The Ministry of Music at Athens First is an exciting ministry that offers opportunities of service through musical arts for ages ranging from kindergarten through adults. Throughout history, music – as well as other arts – has provided Christians a wonderful means of expressing their faith. Our music ministry at seeks to bring to life the great musical treasures of the past and to present lively performances of music of our own time.
Music has always been an important part of our worship experience. Music in the church is an offering to the Glory of God, and the music ministry seeks to create beauty and inspiration as it leads in worship. Music is also an effective tool in the teaching of the Christian faith and the scriptures. |

Chancel Choir –
The Chancel Choir sings on Sunday mornings at the 10:45am Traditional service. The choir experience includes the learning of the great hymns and anthems of the Church, skills in singing and music-reading, learning about the worship of the church, fellowship activities and service. Each of the choirs welcomes new members, whether experienced or beginning. There are no auditions for membership, and the only qualification is a true desire to be of service to God and the Church. We perform special programs for Advent and for Lenten seasons and have practice weekly on Wednesday nights from 6:00-7:15 p.m. in the choir room.

Modern Worship Team – The Path
The Modern Worship Team leads the music on Sunday mornings at the 10:45 a.m. Modern Worship Service and special events during the year like our outdoor Christmas Celebration. We welcome musicians and singers who enjoy contemporary Christian music. The Praise Team practices on Thursdays at 5:30 p.m. in the Modern Worship Center. Contact Beau Humble for more info |
Hand Bell Choir
Ring the Bells in celebration of the lord. Our hand bell choir perform on various occasions during services on Sunday mornings and special events. Choir practices occur on Wednesday afternoons at 4:30pm in choir suite.

Media Ministries
Want to help bring the love of the Lord to others, but not comfortable being in front of people? Have an interest in technology and media production? Join our Media Production ministries. Learn the technology and art of production through Audio mixing, Livestreaming. Lighting design and control, Video editing, Photography, and Set Design. Members will learn all aspects of Media production and be involved in both Traditional and Modern Services, Special Performances, Video production, and Special Outreach Projects. We are always looking for those interested in working behind the scenes to produce our services, special events, and media content. Contact Wes Akin for more info. |

Hand Bell Choir –
The Hand Bell Choir plays a variety of Christian music and performs quarterly throughout the year in the Services. Experienced or not, you need only to be able to read music and love ringing! Practice 5-6 p.m. Wednesdays in the Owen Building. |
