Hello Church,
I am happy to announce the appointment of Rev. Patricia Lund as our new Pastor of Discipleship Beginning this summer. I look forward to the future of our church and the many gifts that Patricia has to bring. She is the recipient of The Paul Quillian Award in homiletics at Perkins (SMU) School of Theology for presenting the best written sermon. I have had the pleasure of working with Patricia the last two years at Lakeview Summer Camps. She is full of energy and has a heart to serve the local church. I believe that she is be a wonderful fit here at Athens First UMC.
Patricia Lund is originally from the small town of Hearne, TX. She is a graduate of Blinn College and Baylor University. Currently, she serves as a pastoral intern at Williams Memorial UMC in Texarkana, TX. Upon completion of the internship in May, she will graduate from Perkins School of Theology. Previously, she has served as a hospital chaplain, Lakeview intern, college chaplain, children's minister, and youth director (but not all at once, of course!). When not working, Patricia enjoys walking, reading, and spending time with her parents, twin brothers, and her friends who are like family.
