MEN'S MINISTRY
Methodist Men
The Methodist Men are a diverse group of men representing many different Christian denominations in Henderson County. They contribute money, time and labor to the following organizations: Food Pantry, Family Peace Project, Disciples Clinic of Athens, Labor of Love, Athens Help Center, First Baptist's Green House, Meals on Wheels, Hope Springs Water, Christian Prison Ministries, Boy Scouts & Cub Scouts, The Farm, Methodist Women, Crafty Ladies, Friends of the Cardinals, TVCC Athletics, The Ark, & others.
Their yearly budget is supported by their annual Chili Cook-Off. At this fundraiser, there is also a silent and live auction which is held in late January or early February.

Men’s Bible Study
7:30 a.m. - 8:30 a.m. Activities Building On the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Wednesdays of each month, a Men's Bible Study led by Joe Mike Murphy meets to study the scriptures and discusses the challenges that face today’s Christian men. As we seek to make a difference in our homes, our workplaces and in the world, the opportunity to study God’s word gives us a strong foundation. Methodist Men - Breakfast
2nd & 4th Wednesday 7:30 a.m. Activities Building Suggested "donation" for this feast is only $4 On the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of the month, our Methodist Men meet for a HUGE breakfast including: eggs, bacon, sausage, grits, biscuits, gravy, fruit, pancakes, coffee, orange juice, salsa, and fresh tomatoes (when in season)! A short program follows the breakfast that revolves around local mission opportunities, community projects and presentations of Christians in Action throughout the area. In addition to the breakfast meetings, the Methodist Men are involved in support of many different mission groups in the Henderson County area. A very active group, they average 50 - 60 men at each meeting. Come join them and meet a wonderful group of Christian men who love to work hard and enjoy fellowship. |
